Gua sha (or spooning) is the centuries-old practice of applying pressure and friction to the surface of the skin usually with a smooth-edged spoon (or other therapeutic tool) to release toxins held in muscular tissue, invigorate blood and lymph circulation in specific areas of the body, relieve chronic muscle tension, and more.
It is often used for treating chronic migraines and headaches, neck/shoulder/back tension and pain, colds/flus, and more.
Gua sha supplies will be provided at the workshop. Those attending should wear tank tops and bring a scarf for covering up afterward.

Fall is the time of year when we want to nourish our spleen center or earth energy — which is responsible for digesting our food to transform it to create the energy we use and processes information, thoughts, etc.
This is a great time to enjoy harvest root veggies like squash, pumpkin, beets and sweet potatoes to ground us and support all the information we are constantly processing.
For a delicious, nourishing, and colorful Fall meal, try chopping your favorite root veggies into 1 inch bite size pieces and roast in oven with olive oil, salt and pepper for 35-45 minutes at 400 degrees. Serve with steamed greens with a dash of salt and balsamic vinegar, and viola! You are eating your medicine!
